Races in Turkey
Turkey Track Championship
It is run on a closed asphalt ground giving start to cars in different
categories and run according to certain number of tours. In Turkey,
races will be run under 4 class. in 2001 in Group N, Group N+, Group
A and Group F3(first time in the year 2001).
Groups and general characteristics of the cars to compete in Turkey
Track Championship are as follows:
Group N:
To run in rallies, non-modified, mass production cars, including
4x4 and turbos.
Group N+:
2 wheel drive, max. 2000 cc. Atmospheric motor, specially reinforced
for track.
Group A:
To run in rallies, WRC included. Touring cars.
Group F3:
Group N or group A, up to 1600 cc. atmospheric motor 2 wheel drive
cars (Kitcars to compete in this group.)
Track Race Rules
Start can be given to max. 36 cars at a time. Cars competing in
groups N, N+, A and F3 take start at the same time but classification
of each group will be evaluated separately. If expected start total
of 12 in each group (group N, N+ and A) is less than 12, then, equal
number of cars from each group, in case of non-equation, more cars
from an upper group, can take start. If enrolled cars are more than
15 in group F3, same group will take start separately. A day before
the race, free warm-up and seeding tours are made. Start standings
are made according to seeding tour results. Start is given by a
light system when cars are at a stop. Track races organised at the
Körfez Track are made in 20 tours. Driver seeing the finish checkered
flag first, wins the race.
